The aim is to obtain information and reactions from the most relevant stakeholders and the general public on the main orientations of the planned EU urban mobility framework. More specifically, the consultation should provide information on how urban areas in the EU can contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, how to improve the quality of life of the urban population in the EU, and how to increase support for ways of more sustainable transportation.
To help the EU build on its 2013 urban mobility package and meet its 2050 climate target, this initiative proposes measures to encourage EU countries to develop urban transport systems that are safe, accessible, inclusive, affordable, smart, resilient and emission-free.
This initiative supplements the technical specifications for recharging points for electric vehicles by adding EU standards for recharging points for electric buses. Lasta day 20th april 2021
Tachographs are devices used to record the activity of lorry drivers. This measure sets new technical specifications for ‘smart’ tachographs, to be fitted in vehicles as of August 2023. Last day 25th of March.
EU policy on transport infrastructure aims to facilitate transport across Europe and reduce regional, economic and social disparities by developing interconnected infrastructure for air, road, rail and shipping. This policy is governed by Regulation 1315/2013, which sets guidelines for: national and EU investment in transport infrastructure and targeted funding under the Connecting Europe Facility and other relevant EU schemes.This initiative will revise these guidelines.
