The Commission approved 225 projects under the Technical Support Instrument (TSI), to support Member States in preparing, designing and implementing reforms that will lead to modern and resilient public administrations, sustainable growth strategies and resilient economies while enhancing their capacity to react to current and future crises. The 2022 TSI Work Programme also includes some novelties like the multi-country or multi-region projects, as well as the flagship projects.

Made from nanocrystals containing silver and bismuth atoms, the solar cell could help to reduce our dependency on toxic elements, such as lead, or rare elements such as indium needed to make ultra-thin solar cells today.

In 2021 the EU only added 11 GW in wind power, and forecasts suggest that between 2022 and 2026 it will also add little, around another 18 GW per year. However, in order to meet the objectives established for 2030, the EU would need to add 30 GW of wind power per year. This slow pace of progress is mainly caused by the granting of permits, which affects the entire European wind supply chain, and puts dozens of jobs under risk.

Solas Sustainable Energy Fund ICAV (SSEF), a fund advised by Solas Capital AG, reaches its first close with €140 million, including a €30 million commitment by the European Investment Bank. The fund has a target size of €200 million and will provide debt financing to energy service companies to carry out energy efficiency and small renewable energy projects, mainly in the European Union. This will bring us one step closer to achieving the EU's Green Deal ambition of becoming climate neutral by 2050.
