47 million fund to protect intellectual property of EU SMEs in their COVID-19 recovery and green and digital transitions

The Commission and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) launched the new EU SME Fund, which offers vouchers for EU-based SMEs to help them protect their intellectual property (IP) rights. This is the second EU SME Fund aiming at supporting SMEs in the COVID-19 recovery and green and digital transitions for the next three years (2022-2024).

The Department of Rural Development and the Environment has launched a pilot test in Cintruénigo to deposit new waste, in addition to household packaging, in the yellow container. The initiative consists of carrying out a selective collection, within a period of 6 months, and in such a way that not only light packaging, but also other plastic, metallic and wooden waste is deposited in the yellow container.

European Innovation Council Fund: equity investments surpass 500 million in breakthrough innovations

The European Commission has announced today the second round of direct equity investment through the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund. Since its launch in 2020, the EIC Fund has now approved 111 investments in highly innovative start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) totalling more than €500 million to scale up breakthrough innovations in areas such as health, circular economy, and Internet of Things (IoT).
